Many Android smartphone owners are keen photographers, which is probably why Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has become so desirable as a popular image processing program on their mobile devices. Ultimately, a vast number of professional camera users have turned to this go-to software package, perhaps while using their smartphone as a backup camera. It's a powerful photograph organizer. Better than that, for demanding photo gurus, people who shoot hundreds of images every day, this program boasts a highly efficient workflow manager.

Before going any further, know that there's already a powerful desktop edition of this image editing and cataloguing program. That's an important point, especially when an Android user wants more connectivity options. When a photograph is imported into this mobile version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, they can set the software to sync with their desktop software. That means someone can take scores of photographs while on an outdoor photo shoot, then import the pictures to the smartphone App, edit them, then have them sync to their desktop computer. As long as all devices are networked, then the syncing operation takes place seamlessly as a background task. Please note, a web Adobe Photoshop Lightroom account and an Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription are both required to get the most out of these image syncing features. Happily, users can substitute their Facebook or Google account for the Adobe account.

While there are other photograph managers on the market, none have become so universally accepted by photographers. Granted, one of those programs might offer just as many features, and it might get a five-star review from some well-respected photography website, but there's simply no way a generic photo manager could become as widely adopted as Adobe's software. For one thing, the full Photoshop image editing software has become known as an industry-standard graphics package. Every photographer who has any knowledge on the subject owns a copy of Adobe Photoshop, so it's only natural that they'd add Lightroom to their image processing workflow. After all, this photograph manager is designed to easily export individual images or batch converted pictures straight to the primary Photoshop program for more editing.

Heading out to a remote location, perhaps an outdoor wedding or wildlife photo shoot, a photographer is taken far from his powerful desktop computer. All of his thousands of images are stored on a large hard drive on that desktop as well. Granted, the photog could bring a laptop along, but why bother when Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is available for Android devices? The small program footprint installs quickly on a smartphone, then the slick interface loads quickly, just as the smartphone owner is framing a picture. From here, all photos are viewable in album folders. They can be imported, exported, synced, and edited, maybe after they've been captured on an existing device or a nearby DSLR. Create new folders, reorganize them, append labels and groups. Alternatively, a demanding and busy program user can opt to automatically group a series of images. The metadata recorded in each image is used to carry out this function, with shutter speeds, white balance settings, and photo filters topping the list of possible auto-grouped possibilities.
